NBA legend Lebron James recently starred in Space Jam 2 and fans are wondering if the film featured his wife Savannah Brinson and their kids too.
Space Jams 2 opened in theatres on July 16 and has fans talking about it ever since.
Part 2 of the original 1996 film (starring Michael Jordan) sees the NBA star teaming up with pop culture characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang for winning a very important basketball game.
While the movie has caused much buzz fans have grown curious about Lebron’s wife and family for two reasons. First, the star recently made a stunning red carpet appearance during the film’s premiere with his wife and daughter by his side.
Second, the film features his family, however, fans are confused if it is his real family or a fictional one.
Who is Lebron James’ wife?
Lebron has been married to wife Savannah Brinson for 8 years now.
Her Instagram bio reveals that the star wife is a philanthropist and businesswoman. In 2013, she opened a juice press called The Juice Spot in Miami. The store was shut in 2016 despite its success due to Savannah’s busy schedule.
In 2018, she started a furniture line called Home Court with the company American Signature.
Despite her commercial success, Savannah’s most impactful work comes in philanthropy.
In 2013, the Los Angeles Lakers player’s wife founded the “I PROMise Makeover” event, aimed at providing prom dresses to underprivileged girls. Savannah also actively runs the LeBron James Family Foundation which has donated up to $41 million of scholarship money to the University of Akron’s students.
Is the NBA star’s family in Space Jam 2?
For those still wondering, no, Lebron’s family in the film was not real.
However, his onscreen family in the movie is heavily based on his real family.
In 2021’s Space Jam 2 cast actress Sonequa Martin-Green plays Lebron’s onscreen wife Kamiyah. Her character is based on Savannah.
We also see that LeBron, who plays the fictional version of himself in the film has three kids in Space Jam 2, Xosha, Darius and Dominic “Dom.”
All of his onscreen kids were inspired by his real-life children. The NBA legend shares 3 children with wife Savannah. His onscreen son Darius was based on Savannah and Lebron’s eldest son Bronny (16).
His youngest son Bryce (14) inspired the Space Jam character Dom. The Lakers’ star’s onscreen daughter Xosha was inspired by his 6-year-old daughter Zhuri James.
A look at their incredible love story
LeBron and Savannah are one of the NBA’s power couple. The pair are high school sweethearts and met as teenagers in their hometown Akron in Ohio.
LeBron was 17 and had been recruited to play on his high school basketball team. Savannah, on the other hand, was a cheerleader and a softball player at his rival high school.
In a 2018 interview, the mother of three revealed that the two met through a mutual friend. She also revealed that she had made the first move.
Only a year after LeBron graduated high school, the pair discovered that Savannah, who was still a senior at the time, was pregnant with their first son, Bronny.
The pair decided to have the baby and still pursue their career paths. Their first son, Bronny was born in 2004, and Bryce Maximus, in 2007. The couple welcomed their daughter, Zhuri, in 2014 a year after tying the knot.
