The Chronicle are reporting that Leeds United are still interested in signing Freddie Woodman from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
What’s the story?
Leeds are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle goalkeeper Woodman this summer.
The West Yorkshire club made a cash bid, but that has been turned down.
That’s because the offer did not meet Newcastle’s valuation.
However, that has not deterred Leeds.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side remain keen on the 24-year-old goalkeeper, who spent the past two seasons on loan at Swansea City in the Championship.
Competition for Leeds United
Bournemouth are also reportedly interested in signing Woodman.
The Cherries want to sign the Englishman on a loan deal.
Martin Dubravka’s foot injury is not as bad as first thought, and Newcastle could decide to let Woodman go.

Stepping up
If Leeds are keen on Woodman, then they need to increase their offer and give Newcastle what they want.
Pre-season training has started, and Illan Meslier is the only senior goalkeeper at Leeds.
Kiko Casilla has left for Elche on loan, and the Spaniard needs to be replaced.
Woodman is a good goalkeeper who would make the Whites stronger.
Swansea head coach Steve Cooper described the English goalkeeper as “brilliant” on the club’s official website in March 2021.
