Speaking on the Official England Podcast, Tony Adams has been full of praise for Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka after Euro 2020 finished.

Regardless of Saka missing the crucial penalty that saw England eliminated in the final, it has to be said that the teenager had a fantastic tournament for the Three Lions, and he showed that he’s got what it takes to be a star on the world stage.

This was Saka’s first chance to play true top-level football, having never played in the Champions League for Arsenal, but he took to this tournament like a duck to water.

What’s been said?

Adams had nothing but good things to say about Saka.

“So, hats off to Saka. He’s had an outstanding season for Arsenal and an outstanding tournament for his country, and we just don’t want to lose him now, we don’t want to lose him. This won’t affect him, he’s strong, he’s got a good family and a lot of people around him,” Adams said.

“I think that kid is going to be a superstar, he already is a superstar, and he can be very proud of himself, he’s had a fabulous, fabulous tournament.”

Bounce back

Saka has had the biggest setback of his young career this weekend, and now he needs to show he can bounce back.

The winger is a supremely talented footballer, but these types of incidents can crush a player’s confidence and change their careers forever.

Adams seems to believe that Saka can bounce back, stating that he’s going to be a superstar, and we can only hope that he’s right.

Fingers crossed Saka can continue the remarkable development we’ve seen from him in his career so far.
