According to a report by The Telegraph, Tottenham have now made Southampton striker Danny Ings their top transfer priority.

Now, it’s interesting to hear that Spurs want a new striker amid rumours that Harry Kane may leave the club, but apparently, Tottenham want Ings to play alongside Kane rather than act as his replacement.

Ings may be available this summer at the right price. He’s refused to sign a new contract at Southampton thus far, and it seems as though he’s angling for a move to a bigger club.

There’s no doubting that Ings is a top player, even at this level. After all, he did score 21 Premier League goals during the 2019/20 campaign, and if he has players such as Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele providing him service, there’s no reason why he can’t once again be a Golden Boot contender.

It’s not just the stats that back Ings’ quality up either, Jurgen Klopp once called him ‘outstanding’, and you don’t get that type of praise from the Liverpool manager unless you’re a special player.

Ings is apparently Spurs’ top priority and this will be a serious test of Fabio Paratici’s credentials as he tries to pry Southampton’s star man away from St Mary’s.
