Speaking on the Anfield Watch YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool definitely need to sell before they buy any players.
The Anfield outfit have already signed Ibrahima Konate this summer, but amid financial difficulties brought upon by the pandemic, the Reds need to sell players before they can make any further additions.
What’s been said?
Romano says that Liverpool definitely need to sell before buying anyone else.
“100% yes, from what I’m told the first step is selling some players, attacking players. So Origi, but in particular Shaqiri, so the first position is Shaqiri, selling Shaqiri, they need to sell some players, it’s important for Liverpool. Once they’ve sold some players they can move for some new wingers as I said, because they are looking at this position, and then they will move for a new midfielder if they have the right opportunity,” Romano said.

Worth doing?
The question you have to ask in this situation is whether or not this is worth doing.
Liverpool want new wingers, but if that is the case should they really be selling Origi and Shaqiri?
Say what you will about Origi and Shaqiri, but they can do a job in this Liverpool side and they can perform competently on either wing.
Perhaps this is a risk not worth taking for the Reds.
