According to The Sun, Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers both want to sign Fulham defender Antonee Robinson this summer.
It’s stated that City want to sign Robinson as cover at left back following Fulham’s relegation from the Premier League, seemingly chasing a bargain.
However, Wolves now have the same idea, and want to bring in Robinson to compete with Rayan Ait-Nouri as a left back or left wing back under Bruno Lage.
Fulham only signed Robinson from Wigan Athletic last summer, but could now be available for around £10million – five times the price Everton sold him for in 2019.
Robinson spent 11 years in the Everton ranks but never made a first-team appearance for the club and was sold to Wigan for just £2million two years ago.
Everton may wish they had received a little for Robinson with the benefit of hindsight, and seeing him join the Premier League champions would be somewhat galling for the Toffees.
Robinson has missed out on a spot in the United States squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, so there shouldn’t be international-based delays over his future.
Going from relegated to joining Manchester City would be hard for anybody to turn down, and a move back to the North West could be appealing after spending so long there with Everton.
