Ramy Bensebaini has no interest in extending his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach amid transfer interest from West Ham United and Roma, per Corriere dello Sport.
The Algerian has entered the final year of his contract at Borussia-Park and is considering a future away from Germany. Bensebaini is attracted by the possibility of playing in Italy, as Roma eye replacements for the injured Leonardo Spinazzola.
Roma, however, have very limited resources in the summer transfer window to strengthen Jose Mourinho’s squad as he would like. And thus, Borussia Monchengladbach are pricing the 26-year-old out of a move to the Stadio Olimpico.

Borussia Monchengladbach want €20m (£17m) to sell Bensebaini amid interest from Roma and West Ham. Arsenal were also considering a move to sign the 38-cap international, but have backed out of the race after landing Nuno Tavares from Benfica for €8m (£7m).
Adi Hutter is also throwing barriers into the way of the left-back leaving Die Fohlen. The Austrian head coach is eager for Bensebaini to stay at Borussia-Park, as he considers him to be one of the best in his position across the Bundesliga.
Hutter may yet get his wish, as neither West Ham nor Roma are willing to pay £17m to sign Bensebaini from Borussia Monchengladbach this summer. Both clubs could look elsewhere to strengthen in the position if the North Rhine-Westphalia outfit do not reduce their price.
West Ham have Bensebaini advantage, but Monchengladbach demands a problem
Bensebaini has given West Ham and Roma an advantage by ruling out signing a new contract with Borussia Monchengladbach. But the Bundesliga side’s asking price is a big problem for either club wanting to acquire the Algerian dynamo.
Hutter’s desires to keep him at Borussia-Park will also prove to be a big obstacle likely to thwart any pursuit. Borussia Monchengladbach outfit could consider keeping Bensebaini despite his contract situation in the hope the Austrian can convince him to stay.
The former Stade Rennes star has developed into a top full-back, full of athleticism and creative ability. He is also strong defensively and able to help the flow of the game on the left-hand channel.
His former Rennes boss, Christian Gourcuff, also lauded his progress while at the Ligue 1 side. “He didn’t have the explosiveness that he has developed whilst he’s been here. He used to switch off, too, but he’s matured,” he said, via Bundesliga.com.
