Jose Mourinho has praised Manchester United and England international left-back Luke Shaw on talkSPORT (8:05am, July 12, 2021).
The former United manager has said that Shaw did very well for England at the European Championship this summer.
Mourinho, now in charge of AS Roma, has hailed the left-back for the improvement that he has shown.
What Jose Mourinho said
The Portuguese said about Shaw on talkSPORT (8:05am, July 12, 2021): “Because people think I don’t like Luke Shaw, I have to say amazing tournament, fantastic final, no defensive mistakes, very solid, and on top of that he improved, improved and improved, and he scored a goal that doesn’t mean much, but for his career, for the way he grew up, very good, very good Luke Shaw.”

Luke Shaw should be praised
Mourinho was critical of Shaw when he was the United manager.
It is very encouraging to see the former Tottenham Hotspur boss praise the 26-year-old so publicly now.
Shaw did not have the best of times at United when Mourinho was the manager, but the England international has improved and developed a lot since then.

The left-back was a regular for England at Euro 2020 and also scored in the final.
The former Southampton star played six times, scored one goal, had a pass accuracy of 83%, made nine tackles, made 21 ball recoveries, made eight clearances and one block, and covered 62.7km.
Shaw was superb for United last season, and England benefited from that this summer.
The 26-year-old has made the left-back position his own for England, who are a better and stronger team with the United star in it.
