Fans have waited eight months to find out who shot Jack Sheridan  on Netflix’s Virgin River, and Season 3 has arrived to possibly solve the mystery.

Thanks to the trailer, fans at least knew Martin Henderson’s bar owner survived the attack, after being tended to by his love interest Mel.

Showrunner Sue Tenney previously confirmed that Season 3 would end with an arrest, but assured fans that the crime would not conclude with that detainment.

Season 3 has fulfilled Tenney’s promise of an arrest, but is there more to the story? We’ve explored all of the suspects to help unravel the mystery.

Season 3 Arrest

*Major Spoilers Ahead*

Season 3 saw Mike’s discovery of a gun in Brady’s truck, that is a perfect match to the weapon used to shoot Jack.

Brady was adamant that the gun had been planted, but Mike was very quick to arrest Brady as the perpetrator and close the case.

Fans are rather suspicious over how eager Mike was to conclude the case and hold Brady responsible.

Brady’s innocence is still on the fence, after fans tagged him as suspect number one at the end of Season 2. However, Brady could be telling the truth about the gun being planted.

Who Else Could Have Shot Jack?

The next suspect in line is drug dealer Calvin, who has a clear motive to shoot Jack after the latter spent most of Season 2 trying to put an end to his illegal business.

Season 3 also presented Jack’s memory of Brady at the scene of his shooting, making it entirely plausible that Calvin used Brady as a puppet to do his dirty work. It wouldn’t be the first time.

Charmaine Roberts

Jack’s ex Charmaine also has motive to get rid of him, after he revealed he had slept with Mel which opened up emotionally charged custody battles over their children.

Charmaine’s new husband Todd has also been included in fans’ rogues’ gallery, despite knowing little to nothing about the character.

Wes Logan’s Twin

A more out-of-the-box theory on who shot Jack points to Wes Logan’s twin, who is currently in Virgin River to solve the disappearance of his brother.

The Miami police officer has Wes’ wife Paige in the crosshairs, as well as her boyfriend Preacher.

One theory making its rounds is the twin brother’s intention to shoot Preacher at the bar, with Jack getting shot by mistake.

Virgin River season 3 is available to stream now on Netflix after releasing on July 9th, 2021.
