FootMercato are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer transfer window.
What’s the story?
It is being reported by FootMercato that Tottenham’s new sporting director Fabio Paratici wants to bring Thuram to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old attacker reportedly has good odds of making the switch to Spurs.
Paratici has made the youngster a priority target.
It has also been claimed that the France international wants a change of scenery and is actually open to leaving Monchengladbach.
The German club want €30 million (£25.63 million) as transfer fee for the youngster.
Thuram is the son of former France international Lilian Thuram.
Lilian Thuram was a defender who starred for AS Monaco, Parma, Juventus and Barcelona.
The 49-year-old won titles and trophies with Monaco, Parma, Juventus and Barcelona, and the World Cup and the European Championship with France.
Marcus Thuram has not won any major trophy yet, but he is only 23 and is rated very highly.
Unlike his father, Thuram is an attacker who has been drawn comparisons with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told Der Spiegel in October 2020: “Technically, he (Henry) could do everything, however there is one player in the Bundesliga who reminds me of him — Marcus Thuram at Borussia Moenchengladbach.”
