The release date and time for episode 2 of the highly anticipated anime series ‘The Case Study of Vanitas’ has been confirmed by Funimation.

The weekend is almost here and there is plenty of great anime to help you relax this Friday!

On Crunchyroll, new episodes of My Next Life as Villainess and Girlfriend, Girlfriend release, whilst the Miraculous Shanghai debuts on Disney Plus.

However, it’s Funimation who are bringing the most interesting show of the day; The Case Study of Vanitas, which makes a return for the second time.

The Case Study of Vanitas: Episode 2 release date and time

  • The Case Study of Vanitas episode 2 is scheduled to release at 5: 30 PM BST on Friday, July 9th.

This time has been confirmed by Funimation and the premiere episode will debut at the following times around the world:

  • Pacific Time: 9: 30 AM
  • Central Time: 11: 30 AM
  • Eastern Time: 12: 30 PM
  • British Time: 5: 30 PM
  • European Time: 6: 30 PM
  • Philippine Time: 12: 30 AM
  • Korea Time: 1: 30 AM
  • Australia Time: 2 AM

Episode 2 will be made available for free users in selected territories from Friday, July 16th.

Opening and ending songs…

The opening theme is called ‘Sora to Utsuro’ and is performed by Sasanomaly, a well-known Japanese producer who fans may also refer to as ‘nekobolo’ (his former stage name).

The closing theme is called ‘0 (Zero)’ and is performed by LMYK, a Japanese-German artist from Osaka.

Studio Bones hitting hard again…

Adapting any manga is difficult, but especially when the series is known for its unique art style. At the helm of The Case Study of Vanitas is Studio Bones, a production company based in Tokyo.

This studio is responsible for some of the best anime adaptations in recent years, including:

  • Mob Psycho 100
  • Space Dandy
  • Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
  • Sk8 The Infinity
  • Godzilla: Singular Point
  • Cowboy Bebop: The Movie
  • Josee, the Tiger and the Fish.

The team are currently working on the upcoming My Hero Academia movie and the Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution film project.

The manga series…

The good news is that if you enjoy reading the manga series alongside the anime, there is plenty of volumes to dig into!

At the time of writing, eight volumes have been released in both the Japanese and English versions, with the ninth releasing in late-June in Japan.
