Speaking on The Redmen TV YouTube channel, Goal journalist Neil Jones has shared what he knows about Liverpool and their reported interest in Harvey Barnes.
The Reds have been linked with Barnes this summer, although it’s been reported that he’s out of their price range at the moment.
However, Jones is certain that there are people at Liverpool, including members of the recruitment staff who really rate Barnes.
What’s been said?
Jones said that there are figures at Anfield who are big fans of Barnes.
“It’s very hard to phrase things sometimes, but there are things you know, things you suspect and things you don’t know. I can openly admit there are things I don’t know about Liverpool, but one thing I do know is that when I’ve spoken to people within Liverpool’s staff and Liverpool’s recruitment team and the squad, certain names come up and they say ‘yeah he’s a good player, he’s very good’ and Harvey Barnes is one of those.
“He probably isn’t a player Liverpool are going to sign this summer, but it’s one of those where if you see a link with Harvey Barnes in the future, you can know for certain that there are a lot of people, including coaching staff and including recruitment staff who think he’s a very good player.”

One for the future
Amid the ongoing pandemic, money is tight in football, so the 23-year-old may not be one for Liverpool in this transfer window.
However, in the future, this could be one that Liverpool look at, as the higher-ups at the Merseyside club seem to be big fans of his.
He certainly won’t come cheaply. After all, he’s one of Leicester City’s most important players, but if the Reds can broker a deal for Barnes he could be an absolute star for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
This doesn’t sound like one for this summer, but keep Barnes’ name in the back of your mind for a potential future transfer to Anfield.
