Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix according to Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go podcast.
Romano stated at 23 minutes and 55 seconds in his latest episode that Lacroix is on Tottenham’s list as they attempt to bring in a new defender.
The likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jules Kounde were mentioned, but the link to Lacroix is very interesting and hasn’t been mentioned before.
Lacroix, 21, joined Wolfsburg from Sochaux last summer and rapidly became a star in the Bundesliga, turning in superb performances for Wolfsburg.
A physical defender at 6ft 3in tall, Lacroix was clocked as the fourth-fastest player in the entire Bundesliga last season, behind only Jeremiah St Juste, Erling Haaland and Alphonso Davies.
Lacroix was also compared to Rio Ferdinand on the Bundesliga’s official website, and it looks like he is the latest exceptional French centre back talent to emerge – as if they needed more.

Fabio Paratici has his list of defensive targets and is working through them, with Lacroix now thought to be a prime target.
RB Leipzig are very keen on Lacroix, first offering €20million (£17million) according to Foot Mercato, with Wolfsburg seeking around €30million (£26million).
Tottenham will now have to decide whether that’s value for money, and given Lacroix’s enormous potential, it does seem like an enticing proposition.
