A match made in heaven

Dilip was already an established star in the Indian cinema when Saira realized her admiration for him only at the age of 12! However, the age difference didn’t stop Saira from following her heart.

Years passed and Saira went on to become a celebrity herself, but she fell for another actor Rajendar Kumar, who was a married man. When their relationship got entangled in a controversy, Saira’s mother decided to play the cupid between her daughter and Dilip.

Soon romance blossomed between Dilip and Saira and they went on to tie the knot in 1966. Although their relationship experienced a few ups and lows, the couple remained together for over four decades, becoming one of the most admired celebrity couples of Hollywood.
