Rapper Diddy took to Instagram on Tuesday, July 6 to share the story about the time he woke up with roaches on his face. But the inspiring message quickly turned into a Twitter joke.

The 51-year-old, who happens to be one of the richest rappers on the planet was seen chilling by his infinity pool, eating a juicy and delicious mango as he shared his wisdom.

While many made fun of the rapper’s Instagram post, it also made many wonder about his net worth.

Rapper’s Instagram video explored

Diddy posted a video on Instagram on Tuesday, July 6, where he stood by his pool, and he talked about working hard, believing in your crazy dreams and never settling for less.

Fans couldn’t help but admire the view of the ocean from his infinity pool. He further said, “You could be whoever you want. You could be eating mango too, with the ocean as your backdrop.”

While the video message was nothing but inspiring, it was the rapper’s caption that left many fans in splits. Diddy wrote, “One day when I was growing up, I woke up and there were 15 roaches on my face.” He detailed how it motivated him to work hard and not settle for a life like that.

The rapper grew up in Manhattan’s Harlem in New York City.

P Diddy’s father Melvin Earl Combs was in U.S. Air Force but was shot dead at age 33 when Combs was 2 years old. He was raised by his mother Janice who was a model/teaching assistant.

Many of Diddy’s fans thought that the roaches story in the pool video was merely an exaggeration of his circumstances. Others outrightly called it a lie. Soon Twitter users turned it into a big joke.
