Jamie O’Hara has raved about Tottenham Hotspur-linked Raheem Sterling on talkSPORT (8:13am, July 5, 2021).

The former Tottenham midfielder has been impressed by how Sterling, linked with a move to Spurs from Manchester City, has done for England at Euro 2020 so far.

The Manchester City attacking midfielder has scored three goals and provided one assist for the Three Lions at Euro 2020.

Tottenham Hotspur interest

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano reported last month that City have made a bid of £100 million for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Romano added that Sterling is among the players the Premier League champions are willing to include to sweeten the deal.

What Jamie O’Hara said

O’Hara said on talkSPORT (8:13am, July 5, 2021): “I think Sterling has been the Man of the Tournament. He has been outstanding.

“He has stepped up when Harry Kane was a bit quiet. He has scored important goals, he runs into the box, he leads, he is a leader on the pitch.

“Obviously Kane gets the headlines because he scored a couple of goals and we all want to see him score because he is the talisman in the team, but Sterling has been the superstar for England.”

Showing his class

Sterling did not have a great 2020-21 campaign on a personal level, even though City won the Premier League title with ease.

The City no.7 scored 10 goals and gave seven assists in the league in 2020-21.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the former Liverpool star scored 20 goals and gave one assist in the league.

Sterling has been brilliant for England at the ongoing European Championship.

The 26-year-old is a superb player who would make Tottenham more potent in attack.

Sterling scores goals, creates chances, work hards and is quick.

The City star would make Spurs better.
