Relations between Harry Kane and Daniel Levy are ‘pretty much broken’ as the striker looks for a summer transfer away from Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Athletic.

The pair have fallen out drastically after Kane informed Levy and made public his desires to leave Tottenham. Sky Sports claimed the forward reiterated at the end of last season that he wants a new challenge. He had sought a move last year, but was persuaded to stay.

Interest has since built from Chelsea and Manchester United, while Manchester City have made efforts to strike a deal. Pep Guardiola’s side bid £100m for the England captain to no avail, and are open to including players in part-exchange.

But Levy has no desires to sell Kane, and Tottenham’s new Managing Director Fabio Paratici has voiced the same stance to Sky Italia. The former Juventus chief insists it is his and the club’s goal to keep the Premier League Golden Boot winner.

But the situation is far from ideal for Tottenham, as relations between Kane and Levy are now ‘pretty much broken’. The striker was also left in the dark over the club’s managerial plans before appointing Nuno Espirito Santo last week.

Levy left the players in limbo over Jose Mourinho’s successor, when Kane and captain Hugo Lloris would usually receive updates. However, Levy did not keep Kane in the loop as relationships are soured, plus his Euro 2020 commitments.

Some players were also fearful of rumours Levy would appoint Antonio Conte and not being compatible with the Italian’s style. While the endless names touted before Nuno arrived only added to the concerns over their futures in north London.

Levy must resolve Kane relationship to keep him at Tottenham

Levy will have to resolve his relationship with Kane if the Tottenham Chairman is going to persuade him to stay. It will be a fraught task, however, as the forward felt they had a gentleman’s agreement that would allow him to leave, per the Evening Standard.

Kane only stayed at Tottenham last summer as Levy assured him a transfer would be possible if he still felt the same way this year. That broken promise will have to be the first port of call when the 27-year-old is back from Euro 2020.

Kane may also want answers as to why Levy did not keep him updated on Tottenham’s managerial search. The forward may have wanted Levy to hear his opinion so they were on the same page before making an appointment. But, seemingly, they are chapters apart.
