Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have received a bid for Ibrox striker Alfredo Morelos, according to Duncan Castles.

What’s the story?

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed on the Transfer Window Podcast that Rangers striker Morelos is wanted by FC Porto.

The Portuguese giants have made a bid of €12 million (£10.29m) for the Colombia international striker.

What Duncan Castles claims

Castles said on the Transfer Window Podcast: “They [Porto] need to get a striker in, and currently one of the strikers they are looking at is Alfredo Morelos at Rangers.

“My understanding is that they have made a €12 million offer [£10 million] for Morelos. If they get that done, they can then move on to other areas.”

Should Rangers sell Alfredo Morelos?

A bid of €12 million (£10.29m) does not sound a lot for Morelos.

However, it is 10 times what Rangers paid for the Colombia international.

As reported by Sky Sports, the Gers paid £1 million to HJK in 2017 to bring Morelos to Ibrox.

Morelos is a better and more developed player now that he was back in 2017.

The striker also scores goals regularly.

Rangers should not settle for €12 million (£10.29m).

The Gers should hold out for more.

Remember, Morelos is a Scottish Premiership winner.

Rangers could also play in the Champions League next season.

The Rangers no.20 scored 11 goals and gave three assists in the league last season.

Morelos also scored three goals and gave five assists in the Europa League.
