Everton and new boss Rafael Benitez are planning talks with Richarlison over his future, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Toffees have their new manager in place now with Benitez coming in to replace Carlo Ancelotti following the Italian’s shock move to Real Madrid.

Benitez has plenty of work to do at Goodison Park, and it seems that one of his first tasks is to try and convince Richarlison to stay at Everton.

Benitez planning Richarlison talks

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has now told his Twitch channel that Everton officials and new boss Benitez intend to talk to Richarlison to discuss his future.

‘A lot of teams’ allegedly want to sign Richarlison this summer, but Everton are seemingly in no mood to sell – and neither is new boss Benitez.

“There are a lot of teams interested in Richarlison but Everton and Rafa Benitez are going to talk to him to convince him to stay at the club,” said Romano. “That’s where we stand regarding him,” he added, as quoted by Goodison News.

Richarlison may feel it’s time to move on from Everton

Everton splashed the cash to sign Richarlison from Watford in 2018, and he has managed a more than respectable 42 goals in 119 games.

Last season wasn’t easy for him with just seven league goals, but he did receive huge praise from Jurgen Klopp, branding him ‘top class’.

Now 24, Richarlison is away with Brazil right now, and sees his teammates playing Champions League football; Gabriel Jesus at Manchester City, Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain, Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid, Roberto Firmino at Liverpool.

Could anyone blame him for feeling a little jealous?

Not only is Richarlison not in the Champions League, he’s not even in the Europa League – not even in the Europa Conference League!

Everton undoubtedly have major potential and will be aiming to return to European action soon, but Richarlison has never played in a European game for the Toffees.

Richarlison may now want to take another step forward in his career, but Everton will be under no pressure to sell and need to sell this new project under Benitez to him.
