According to the Daily Mail, Celtic have set their sights on a move to sign Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet this summer – but face a battle with Nottingham Forest.
The Bhoys have snapped up defender Osaze Urhoghide in the last few days to really kickstart the Ange Postecoglou era, but more signings are needed.
Leigh Griffiths may have signed a new deal, but signing another striker has to be a priority for Celtic, no matter what the future holds for Odsonne Edouard.
Celtic’s pursuit of Nisbet
It’s claimed that Celtic are now focused on signing Nisbet, and they have made their first move for the striker by finding out how much he would cost, contacting either Hibernian or his agent.
Hibs want around £4million for Nisbet, who cost just £200,000 from Dunfermline last summer and smashed 18 goals in all competitions on his way to landing a spot in Scotland’s squad for Euro 2020.
The 24-year-old is wanted by other clubs as well as Celtic, with Swansea City, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Russian side Krasnodar also keen, but the Bhoys are now hoping to lead the race.

Doolan comments on Nisbet
Nisbet has received praise throughout the season, and has now been hailed by his former Partick Thistle teammate Kris Doolan.
Doolan, speaking to the Glasgow Evening Times, thinks Nisbet will ‘definitely’ be a ‘brilliant’ signing for Celtic as he would thrive in such a big club that create so many chances.
Doolan thinks Nisbet will continue to improve if he makes the move to Celtic, and would be right to assume he would be Celtic’s first-choice striker as he raved about the Scot.
