There’s been an update in Gabbie Hanna and Jessi Smiles’ long-term feud. Here’s what’s happening on Twitter…
Gabbi Hanna and Jessi Smiles have been clashing on social media since 2019, and all the drama has just been reignited again after Jessi posted an interesting tweet.
So, who are Jessi and Gabbie? Why are they feuding? And what happened this week? Here’s a full update.
Who are Jessi Smiles and Gabbie Hanna?
Jessica Vanquez, better known on social media as Jessi Smiles, is a YouTuber with 966,000 subscribers.
The 27-year-old from Florida originally rose to fame on the social media site Vine before moving over to YouTube.
Gabbie Hanna also used to make videos on Vine, and her and Jessi actually used to be good friends.
The 30-year-old then started a YouTube channel and has since branched out into singing and acting.
Jessi and Gabbie have been feuding online since 2019
Jessi and Gabbie have been feuding online since 2019, although it actually starts way back in 2014.
In 2014, Jessi filed a lawsuit against her boyfriend at the time, Curtis Lepore, accusing him of alleged sexual assault. According to The Blast, Curtis pleaded guilty.
However, Gabbie allegedly continued hanging out with Curtis and his friends, denied Jessi’s claims and carried on publicly supporting him, leading Jessi to publicly call her out.
Over the years, both YouTuber’s have made numerous YouTube videos and tweets about the allegations.
That’s the last thing that happened between Jessi and Gabbie… until now.
What happened this week?
This week, Gabbie shared a YouTube video titled ‘About The 3 Hour Jessi Smiles Phone Call’. In the clip, she addressed the alleged leaked footage, saying “Jessi has been attacking [her] and targeting [her] online since 2015.”
Gabbie said: “I have a career in entertainment, I do press, I am allowed to talk about my life. This is something that has become a huge part of my story — much to my dismay.
“But it’s not right for you to be able to say whatever you want, and then I can’t be asked about it, I can’t respond about it, I can defend myself, I can’t share my side of the story. I was asked about her because since 2015 Jessie has made it her mission to align me with her rapist, and finally in 2019 it worked, and that’s been my life ever since.”
This comes after Jessi posted an alleged phone call that she had with Gabbie last summer that she claims proves her alleged support of Curtis Lepore.
“Gabbie and I had a phone call last summer. I never planned to release it. In fact, there’s nothing I want more than to never talk or think about Gabbie ever again. But her continued lying about my trauma has officially broken me and I don’t know what else to do,” she tweeted.
