Fans were shocked to see Jaimie Alexander reprise her role as Sif after she was last seen in 2015 in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Jaimie Alexander has played the role of Sif since 2011, where she first appeared as the character in Thor. Since, then she has reprised the role on numerous occasions until her last appearance as Sif in 2015.
Though she is set to appear in the upcoming MCU film ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, she made a surprise cameo that left fans feeling bittersweet and wanting to know more about her. Please note: This article may contain spoilers!

Who is Sif in Marvel Cinematic Universe?
- Sif, or rather Lady Sif, is an Asgardian warrior and is a well-known acquaintance of Thor and the Warriors Three.
She is also known as the Goddess of War. Not only is she from the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) but her first appearance was in the 1964 comic ‘Journey Into Mystery‘ Issue #102.
She grew up with Thor, who helped her gain the status of a warrior, which many opposed due to her being a woman. In the films and comics, she is seen to fall in love with Thor. Her first appearance in MCU was in Thor (2011), she later appeared in the subsequent films and spin-off MCU series.
Alternate timelines and media portrayals often have similar characteristics but big changes to her life. Such as in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ comics, where she has a son with Thor named Woden Thorson.
In the MCU films, she is one of many to be taken during ‘The Blip’ but is later brought back. The Mutant X comics also show a timeline where she dies but due to the Beyonder, as opposed to Thanos.
Sif’s powers include superhuman strength, endurance, durability, CQC and weapon proficiency. In earlier appearances she could also teleport.

Fans were taken aback after seeing her appear in Marvel’s Loki TV series, where she appears in Episode 4. Her appearance is bittersweet for many and here is why *SPOILERS*.
After Loki is separated from Sylvie, he’s placed in a time cell by the Time Variance Authority and can’t escape. Whilst there he encounters Sif, who is enraged at him for cutting her hair as a joke.
Sif berates him and tells him he will be alone, leading him to the realisation that she’s a construct and not real. Knowing this, he relents to her accusations and reveals some truths about himself and the struggles he is facing, before she leaves. Mobius then appears to take Loki for further interrogation.
