Rangers starlet Kai Kennedy has been recognised by UEFA for his stunning performances in the Gers’ UEFA Youth League debut – being named to the 2019/20 team of the tournament for his impressive displays.
Kennedy shone as the Light Blues beat Young Boys and Slovan Bratislava before being knocked out by Atletico Madrid, with Rangers fans turning out in great numbers to see Graeme Murty’s side.
Kennedy played in all five of Rangers‘ games in their debut campaign in the Youth League, contributing three assists for the Light Blues, before spending last season on loan with Inverness CT and Raith Rovers.
The Ibrox teen is likely to head out on loan again this season with a Premiership side the likely destination for the Scottish youth international.
Rangers will again take part in the UEFA Youth League this season but will need to wait to discover which path they will take with the first-team still to qualify for the Champions League.
Rangers starlet joined by names from European giants in UEFA XI
Joining Kennedy in the 2019/20 UEFA Youth League Team of the Tournament are goalkeeper Renato Josipovic of Dinamo Zagreb, Real Madrid sensation Sergio Santos at right-back and Blagojevicu of Crvena Zvezda at left-back. Croatian international Josko Gvardiol is at centre-back alongside Cheikh Niasse of Lille.

Kennedy takes up his berth on the right wing, Sontje Hansen of Ajax is on the left, with Giuseppe Leone of Juventus and FC Midtjylland’s Antonis Martis paired in central midfield.
Strikers Junior Adamu of Red Bull Salzburg and Goncalo Ramos of Benfica complete the XI.
