Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney has raved about Celtic youngster Adam Montgomery in The Scottish Sun.

The former Celtic star has said that he has heard good things about the 18-year-old left-back.

The Celtic teenager is coming through the Glasgow giants’ academy system.

Montgomery played for the Hoops against St. Johnstone in May.

Arsenal star Tierney has said that he has heard good things about Montgomery from former Celtic interim manager John Kennedy and Greg Taylor.

What’s been said

Tierney told The Scottish Sun: “I saw that John Kennedy was talking about Adam Montgomery, and I’ve heard a lot of good things about him. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see his debut.

“But I know from speaking to Kendo and Greg Taylor at Celtic that he’s a good talent and a decent boy too. I wish him all the best.

“It’s always great to see someone come through the Celtic academy. It was special for me to come through the ranks to the first team.

“Now, Adam’s got a chance of progressing, and I’d love to see him get more games and push for a place. All I’d advise him to do is enjoy everything.

“From what I’ve heard he’s a good enough player and a lad with the right attitude.”

One for the future

Montgomery is only 18, and it is clear that the Celtic teenager is one for the future.

It is unlikely that the Scottish teenager will play week in and week out under new Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou next season.

However, the 18-year-old could get chances from time to time in 2021-22.

At the moment, it is important that Montgomery does well for the Celtic youth team.

If the teenager gets the chance to train with the Celtic first team, then he should learn from his coaches and senior players in the sessions.

Tierney was a star at Celtic at a very early age, and perhaps Montgomery could follow in his footsteps.

The Arsenal star is one of the best left-backs in the word, and he would know a quality player in his position.
