Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter in excitement after Virgil van Dijk uploaded an 11-second video of himself onto Instagram.

What’s the story?

Well, the footage showed Van Dijk at the AXA Training Centre with what appears to be some Liverpool coaches.

To the relief of Liverpool fans all over the globe, the knee that he injured is looking nice and strong.

In the video, Van Dijk takes a ball down on his chest, before lashing a fierce strike into the top right corner, using the leg he had injured.

Now, that is such a massive relief for the Reds.

Some players who damage their Cruciate Ligament can often be timid after recovering, and refrain from using the knee’s power to full effect.

However, Van Dijk looks extremely comfortable in hitting the ball hard, despite what happened to his right knee.

Who does Jürgen Klopp drop?

After the £36 million arrival of Ibrahima Konaté, Jürgen Klopp now has three of Europe’s best centre-backs at his disposal.

However, the German only uses a system containing two, so one of the trio will have to sit out of the starting XI most weeks.

Klopp will surely start the 2021/22 campaign with Van Dijk and Gomez – if fit – given what the pair have achieved together in the past.

However, Konaté presumably didn’t agree to join the Reds to warm the bench, so Klopp has a real headache in this department now.

That’s without mentioning Joël Matip, who is also yet to return from injury, and Nat Phillips.

For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the 11-second footage…
