Jose Enrique has suggested on Instagram that Renato Sanches would be a good signing for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The former Liverpool star believes that the Lille midfielder can become world class under manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Stadium Astro and Sky Sports pundit made the comments following Sanches’s performance for Portugal in their 2-2 draw with France at Euro 2020 on Wednesday evening.

Liverpool monitoring Renato Sanches

Liverpool are actually monitoring the Lille midfielder, according to media reports.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano first reported interest from Liverpool in the former Bayern Munich midfielder on CBS Sports in February 2021.

Calciomercato subsequently reported that the 23-year-old midfielder is destined to join Liverpool, as we covered here on HITC Sport.

Georginio Wijnaldum replacement?

Georginio Wijnaldum has left Liverpool for Paris Saint-Germain, and Liverpool need to sign a replacement.

Sanches would not be a bad candidate.

The 23-year-old did not have a great time when he was at Bayern, and his loan spell at Swansea was disappointing.

However, the youngster has got his career back on track since his move to Lille in 2019 for €25 million (£21.44 million), according to AS.

The 23-year-old helped Lille win the Ligue 1 title last season.

The Lille no.18 scored one goal and gave three assists in 23 league appearances.
