Liverpool are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe, according to Marca.
What’s the story?
Spanish publication Marca are reporting this evening that Liverpool have ‘enquired about the availability’ of PSG star Mbappe this summer.
PSG do not want to sell the 22-year-old, described as “ridiculously good” by former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker on Twitter this month.
“Liverpool’s enquiry seems more out of hope than expectation, particularly with regards to this summer, with the Merseyside club unable to buy until they move players out of the club,” states the report.
Real Madrid are also reported to be keen on the 22-year-old.
Could a Liverpool transfer happen this summer?
PSG are a rich club, and they have no financial pressure to sell Mbappe now.
Yes, as things stand, the striker will become a free agent next summer, but Ligue 1 giants PSG can take that risk.
It does not seem likely that the 22-year-old will force a move through this summer either.

After all, the France international could just see out his contract and then leave on a free at the end of next season.
The only way that PSG could sell is if Liverpool make a massive offer.
And by massive, we mean more than the £166 million PSG paid for the youngster to AS Monaco, as reported by Sky Sports.
Would Liverpool be willing to – or indeed afford to – pay that much in transfer fees on a single player this summer?
