Mark Hoppus made headlines recently when the Blink-182 bassist made it public that he was undertaking chemo treatments for the last few months.
Only months ago, it was announced by Travis Barker that Blink-182 would be releasing a new album in 2021.

How Mark Hoppus’ cancer battle went public
On Wednesday, 23rd June 2021, Mark Hoppus took to his social media accounts to address his fans on the status of his health. In the statement, he reveals that he has been battling cancer and has been receiving treatments.
He says “For the past three months I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer – I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful”. This news came as a shock to thousands of fans who had retweeted and replied to his message in shows of support.
Since Hoppus went public, band member Travis Barker posted an image of the two together on his Instagram story saying “Love you Mark”. Matt Skiba has not yet made any public comments.
Though his wife Skye has not yet made a public comment on his chemotherapy or health status, Meaww has stated that she is believed to be supporting him through this difficult time.
Who is Skye Everly?
- Skye Leigh Everly is well known as Mark Hoppus’ wife. She was born on 6th August 1972 in Orange County, California. Skye and Mark met through band member Tom DeLonge.
Everly, who also goes by the last name ‘Hoppus’ graduated from Pepperdine University in 1994 and is well known for her work on MTV Networks and later as a cinematographer.
She is also recognised for her work on ‘Blink 182: The Urethra Chronicles II: Harder, Faster. Faster, Harder ‘ (2002) and her estimated net worth currently sits at around $500k.
Skye and Matt married in 2000 and had a son together 2 years later named Jack Hoppus. The three can regularly be seen together on Skye’s Instagram account:
