Liverpool and Manchester City supporters praised Pedri’s performance for Spain on Wednesday at Euro 2020.
The Barcelona talent helped Spain record an emphatic 5-0 win against Slovakia, as Luis Enrique’s men booked their place into the knockout stages in fine fashion.
It was the youngest player on the pitch – Pedri – that caught the eye of the Liverpool and Man City supporters, who are saying the same thing about the generational talent and his ability to pick out a pass.
You must have some serious quality in your boots if, at the age of 18, you are playing regularly in the middle of the park for your country, and that at a major tournament.
It’s perhaps why Liverpool have previously seen their name linked with the quick-thinking midfielder.
The Mirror previously reported in March that Pedri’s agent has been contacted by Liverpool, who have expressed an interest in the player.
It’s understandable why those on Merseyside would look at his talents, and some would even say that he would be perfect for Pep Guardiola over at Man City.
Many are seeing Phil Foden’s rise under Guardiola’s stewardship at the Etihad and someone like Pedri would hit the roof under the coaching methods of his fellow countryman.
But, without them, he’s already making a name for himself and picking out passes England supporters are dreaming their players can pluck out under the dreary and methodical system of Gareth Southgate.
Nonetheless, the knockout stages of Euro 2020 await us and it will be interesting to see how Pedri performs under more pressure and that better quality of player.
