According to Calciomercato, West Ham have submitted a bid for Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenković.
What’s the story?
Well, West Ham’s offer is said to be worth €20 million (£17 million).
However, the Serie A outfit have rejected the bid.
Calciomercato believe the bid is far from what Rocco Commisso is hoping to receive for the 23-year-old.
Sadly, the Italian news outlet do not actually mention how much Fiorentina want for their No.4 in their latest report.
However, an earlier story from Calciomercato claims Fiorentina want €30 million (£25.7 million) for their defensive colossus.
In our view, West Ham were just testing the water, and will return with a second bid for the 28-cap Serbia international.

£17 million is by no means a disrespectful offer, and it’s not too far from the £25.7 million wanted by the Italians.
Will this spark Tottenham and Liverpool into life?
West Ham aren’t the only ones interested in Milenković.
According to reports elsewhere, Liverpool and Tottenham have already made contact with Fiorentina over the defender’s availability.
Gazzetta dello Sport add that Arsenal are now keen on him too.
In that respect, West Ham face a real challenge to sign him, given the calibre of clubs involved in the race.

Having said that, the Hammers actually finished above Tottenham and Arsenal last season, and can offer Milenković Europa League football.
How good does that sound, West Ham fans?
Unless Liverpool mount a serious pursuit for Milenković, West Ham are in a good position to sign the Serbian, in our view.
