Tottenham were seemingly ready to hire Gennaro Gattuso last week but the Spurs chairman reportedly pulled the plug over major opposition to that idea from the fanbase on social media.
With the transfer window open, it’s now affecting the Lilywhites’ recruitment.
That’s because The Athletic has reported this morning that one mystery international player is ready to join the North Londoners.
The report from David Ornstein and Stuart James claims that the ‘transfer suits all parties’ and that the star in question has indicated that Tottenham is his preferred choice.
But the delay in hiring a replacement for Mourinho is also causing a delay in getting that deal over the line.
Frustrating
Tottenham fans are already growing frustrated in not knowing who will be overseeing the team next season.
And this report, is true, will exacerbate things further.
Things are a major mess in North London right now and the supporters will grow far more upset if they know that their manager search is having a dire knock-on effect for Fabio Paratici and his efforts to add players.
