Luis Campos has raved about Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi in O Jogo (print edition, page 18, June 23, 2021).
The former Lille director has praised the 22-year-old midfielder, and believes that the Arsenal youngster is very good technically and tactically.
Campos has also said that the French midfielder needs to mature.
What’s been said
The former Lille director said about Guendouzi in O Jogo (print edition, page 18, June 23, 2021): “I like him a lot, he has great talent, an exceptional talent, he’s very good both technically and tactically.
“He was a player who showed up very young and whose first season in England went very well for him right away. The second one was not so good, it’s part of the players’ maturation and growth process.
“I have a feeling that emotionally he’s a player who hasn’t matured to 100 percent yet, he needs to mature more. By age, as he is still very young, he has a great future ahead of him.”

Matteo Guendouzi’s Arsenal spell
Guendouzi spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Hertha Berlin after reportedly falling out with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
The midfielder was not at his best at the Gunners during the 2019-20 campaign, but he did show his potential in 2018-19.
The Frenchman made 19 starts and nine substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal in 2019-20.
In 2018-19, the youngster made 23 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League and made two starts and four substitute appearances in the Europa League.

No future at Arsenal?
If media reports are to be believed, then Guendouzi does not have a future at Arsenal.
La Provence in France reported this week that the youngster will join Marseille, with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta ready to sell him.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport.
Are Arsenal about to make a mistake?
Based on Campos’s comments, it would seem so.
