According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are renewing their interest in Norwich City full back Max Aarons as they pursue new signings.

Serge Aurier could leave Tottenham this summer, whilst Matt Doherty did little in his first season with the club to suggest that he is the long-term solution.

Daniel Levy is believed to have enquired about Aarons in the past, and Aarons is back on Tottenham’s wish list despite Norwich winning promotion.

Tottenham see Aarons as cheaper option to Lamptey

Tottenham are in the market for another right back, with Steve Hitchen and new director of football Fabio Paratici charged with the task of finding one.

Brighton star Tariq Lamptey is thought to be one of the targets, but he would cost a huge £50million fee – a price Tottenham may not want to pay.

Aarons on other hand is valued at around £30million, with Tottenham seemingly prepared to move for him instead of Lamptey.

Aarons is diminutive but quick and dynamic going forward, whilst he already has a season of Premier League action under his belt having won two promotions with Norwich.

Who else wants Aarons?

Canaries boss Daniel Farke has branded Aarons ‘outstanding’, and it’s no great surprise that he is attracting major interest.

Sky’s report suggests that Manchester United and Everton are also keen on Aarons, though he would surely only be backup to Aaron Wan-Bissaka at United.

Everton are a major threat to Tottenham’s hopes, but having been born in Hammersmith, the 21-year-old may well fancy a return to London.
