England picked up a 1-0 win over the Czech Republic on Tuesday night, with Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka turning in an impressive performance.
The Three Lions were much improved from Friday’s 0-0 draw against Scotland, and grabbed the win thanks to Raheem Sterling heading home Jack Grealish’s cross.
A drab second half may have put fans to sleep, but England are through from the group stage without conceding a single goal.
Arsenal talent Saka justifies his inclusion
Many were surprised when Gareth Southgate decided to start Bukayo Saka on the right flank, bringing him in for Phil Foden.
Many felt that it was time for Jadon Sancho to start on the right, but Southgate went for Saka – and the Arsenal ace turned in a superb performance.
The 19-year-old completed four dribbles, more than the rest of the England starters combined whilst chipping in defensively with a tackle, an interception and a clearance.

Sancho praises Saka; no hard feelings
Given that Borussia Dortmund star Sancho is one of the top wingers in Europe, few could blame him for being a little frustrated at being benched again last night.
Sancho did come on for Saka late on, and then took to Instagram in order to praise Saka, suggesting that the Arsenal teenager took his chance, just as Sancho told him to do before the game.
Arsenal fans would no doubt love to see Sancho and Saka team up for the Gunners in the future, though that seems a little unlikely for a few years.
