Gianni Alioski’s agent has rubbished reports linking Leeds United’s Premier League hero with a summer move to Russian giants CSKA Moscow, while speaking to Sport24.
While the madcap Macedonian may be on his way out of Elland Road – Alioski’s contract expires on July 1 and it appears there is little chance of an extension – it seems that Moscow will not be his destination after all.
Reports over the weekend had suggested that CSKA wanted the versatile, hard-running wideman to reinforce a side which finished a disappointing sixth in the Russian top flight last term.
But the 29-year-old, who joined Leeds as an attacking midfielder during the ill-fated Thomas Christiansen era before blossoming in a full-back role under Marcelo Bielsa, will not be joining the likes of Mario Fernandes and Nikola Vlasic at the VEB Arena.
“The information is incorrect,” agent Dino Lamberti insisted. “CSKA did not contact me about Ezjan’s transfer.”

One of the most divisive players in Leeds’ recent history, Alioski silenced his doubters while adapting belatedly to life in the Premier League, providing assists in famous victories over Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the spring.
All the signs suggest that Leeds are in the market for a replacement, however, with a whole host of left-backs linked with a move to Elland Road in recent weeks.
Nicolas Tagliafico confirmed his desire to leave Dutch champions Ajax late last week, although a shock deal for Real Madrid legend Marcelo now looks unlikely after the brilliant Brazilian replaced Sergio Ramos as the captain of the Bernabeu.
