Liverpool are more likely to sign Florian Neuhaus than Youri Tielemans this summer, the Athletic suggest.
Liverpool have been linked with the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder by numerous sources this summer.
And James Pearce’s latest update on the matter does say that Liverpool have been scouting him for some time, although no approach has been made.
Indeed, the report says that Liverpool’s official line on the matter is that signing a new midfielder is not a priority, although that is likely to change as the summer goes on.
Liverpool have now been linked with a number of different options in midfield.
And it is apparently more realistic to see Neuhaus signing than Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The Reds have also been linked with the Belgian star, but that deal looks difficult to pull off, and signing Neuhaus could be more simple.
A clever move?
While Tielemans is more familiar with Premier League fans, Neuhaus may actually be the smarter buy.
He would likely come for a cheaper price, with the Daily Mirror saying he is available for £34 million, but that doesn’t mean that he lacks quality.
The 24-year-old is extremely well rounded and has very strong defensive qualities, although he also netted six goals this season.
It has already been claimed in Bild that Neuhaus has his heart set on a move to Liverpool.
So if the Reds are able to agree a fee with Mochengladbach, convincing the player to move to Anfield may not be too difficult.
