Former Rangers and Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has capped off a fantastic season that saw him help boyhood heroes Dundee back to the Scottish Premiership by being named Championship Player of the Year.
Adam, who made 32 appearances throughout the season for James McPake’s side, joined the Dens Park side last summer after becoming a free agent, going on to make a dream come true by captaining his boyhood club to promotion.
His eight goals helped Dundee win promotion via the playoffs, with the former Ibrox star scoring a vital strike against Kilmarnock in the playoff final.
As well as a decent return of goals, Adam helped Dundee’s cause with a further 13 assists, and he’ll be hoping to repeat those sort of numbers in the Premiership.

Adam’s experience at Rangers and Liverpool vital in Dundee’s playoff push
After returning for pre-season today, Adam was presented with his trophy and took to Twitter to express his joy at the recognition for the effort last season, saying: “Delighted to have won the Championship Player of the Season award, the hard work starts now for us all to be ready for the challenge of the Premier League.”
The veteran midfielder played a key role in helping Dundee secure a long-awaited return to the Premiership and the experience gained over a career that has taken in spells at Rangers, Blackpool, Liverpool, Stoke City and Reading was crucial for the Dark Blues.
