It hasn’t exactly been a stellar first 10 months as a Liverpool player for Kostas Tsimikas.
The Greece international quit Olympiacos to join Liverpool in an £11 million deal last August [Sky Sports].
But considering the left-back only managed five minutes of Premier League football last season, let’s just say he didn’t pull up any trees.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is unconvinced by the 25-year-old and would be willing to sell or loan him to Napoli.
But that would leave Andy Robertson as Klopp’s only other left-back and suffice to say that some Liverpool fans on Twitter aren’t buying it at all.
Potentially true
Liverpool fans clearly don’t believe it but it is possible that the German coach could offload him.
Yes, Tsimikas has had a bit of injury trouble, but for the most part he’s been fit and just hasn’t impressed Klopp enough to earn more chances.
And therefore it honestly isn’t impossible that the Anfield club could want to get rid of Tsimikas.
That would certainly require signing a replacement because, as mentioned, it would leave Liverpool with no cover for Robertson.
But that’s effectively already the case if Klopp doesn’t trust the Scot’s understudy.
