Tottenham Hotspur still could move for Erik ten Hag as their next manager, ESPN report.

Ten Hag is the name which simply won’t go away for Tottenham fans.

The Dutchman has been linked with Spurs ever since Jose Mourinho departed, but at the time when Tottenham pushed for him most strongly, he penned a year’s extension to his contract at Ajax.

Since that time Tottenham have tried and failed to land multiple different managers.

Their search is now said to be back to square one, and ESPN say that Ten Hag is still on their wishlist.

The Telegraph also back up these claims in their latest update.

A happy ending to a prolonged saga?

If Tottenham were to land Ten Hag at the end of their managerial saga, then the end result may be one which appeases Spurs fans.

Recent moves for Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso, which collapsed this morning, have been extremely unpopular.

But Ten Hag does have a degree of support from Spurs fans, and has performed admirable work at Ajax.

The 51-year-old Dutch boss has an impressive 73% win rate throughout his time with Ajax, and he has had success both domestically and in Europe with the side from Amsterdam.

His style of play has also caught the eye, and that could suit at a Spurs side, who will surely need to develop their own talents rather than spend lavish amounts on buying quality.
