Charles Watts has said on his own Youtube channel that Arsenal are confident that they can get a deal for Ben White over the line.

Arsenal have had an initial bid rejected for the Brighton & Hove Albion central defender.

However, the Gunners are now expected to make an improved offer as they try and land the England international.

White is currently away with England on Euro 2020, but he is said to be fully aware that Arsenal want to sign him.

And in a very interesting piece of news, Watts has revealed that White’s agent has actually already visited London Colney to discuss Arsenal’s plans for him.

“As far as I understand it Arsenal are not discouraged [by the rejected bid] and they think they can get this deal done for Ben White,” the journalist revealed.

“He is very aware of the interest of Arsenal and is keen on a move. His agent has been speaking with Edu, those talks have been going very, very well – about how Arsenal see him as part of the future.

“He’s been to London Colney, his agent, and met with Edu, as part of this.”

Show of ambition

If Arsenal were to land White it seems that they would be landing a key target quickly.

Arsenal are keen to add a new leader to their defence, and they have put their trust in White.

At the fees involved, Arsenal clearly want the 23-year-old to be the man which they build their defence around.

It is easy to see why Arsenal rate White so highly too.

His reputation has rapidly increased, and he coped brilliantly in his first season in the Premier League last term.

White is excellent in possession, which will suit Arteta’s style, and at his current age he still has a lot of room to develop, with the Spanish boss obviously backing his coaching ability to make him into a star.
