Paris Saint-Germain don’t want to sign Tottenham defender Serge Aurier, according to a report.

Italian outlet Gazzetta have claimed that with PSG looking at Inter right-back, Achraf Hakimi, they have rejected the idea of signing Tottenham’s error-prone defender.

In May, Aurier stated that he will not extend his current contract at Spurs amid claims that he has reached an agreement with PSG to join them, as he told L’Equipe.

This is a big blow for the £23 million player (BBC Sport), who now perhaps egg on his face if these rumours are to be true.

He hasn’t helped himself by claiming that he will not be extending his current deal in North London, and given that he isn’t exactly pulling up trees, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Spurs fans want him out of the door.

The big problem currently facing Tottenham is that they don’t have a manager in charge.

All of that does shed some mystery on what will happen to players currently on Tottenham’s books and where their futures lie.

Players want assurances and with no manager at the helm, it does increase the chances of a player wanting to leave, especially if somebody comes knocking.

But it seems as though PSG won’t be knocking for Aurier’s services, despite him expressing a desire to leave.
