Like that time when Lil Uzi Vert got a diamond embedded on his forehead. However, Post Malone has kicked things up a notch.
The New York Rapper recently got brand new diamond teeth. Yes, you heard that right, the teeth don’t have diamond coated on them, they are actual diamond teeth.
The rapper posed with his bedazzling smile and flaunted his new fangs in a recent Instagram post.
Here’s what you should know about the Circles singer’s new teeth!
Who made Post Malone’s new grill?
The singer’s new teeth were fashioned by celebrity dentist and the self-proclaimed “Father of Diamond Dentistry,” Dr Thomas Connelly.
The dentist took to his Instagram yesterday on June 14, to post the picture of the rapper’s new fangs.
In his Instagram post, the doctor revealed that the reconstruction procedure cost Post $1,600,000 and took place over the last weekend.
He revealed to Rolling Stone that he had met the rapper a few years back at Madison Square Garden. Post Malone had seen some diamond embeds done by him for other artists and athletes and asked if he could create a whole diamond tooth.
Dr Connelly also stated that he had never done a dental diamond embed before but agreed to try it for the singer.
The procedure apparently took about a year-and-a-half of trial and error to figure out a way to create diamond teeth. It took a couple more months to figure out how to insert them.
Dr Connelly explains, “It’s very difficult to cut holes in diamonds without destroying them.”
He has used 40 carats of diamonds from Belgium and cut in Israel for creating Post Malone’s fangs.
The dentist has previously worked with personalities like Dababy and Shaq.
Rapper’s new fangs explored
The surgery that the New York rapper underwent is called Porcelain Veneer work and is one of the most famous cosmetic dental procedures.
The Sunflower singer got his two diamond fangs framed with a total weight of 12 Carats.
He also underwent a procedure to complete 26 units of ceramic restoration alongside getting his 2 diamond teeth.
Dr Connelly explained to Rolling Stone, that a diamond has to be twice the size of teeth for this procedure so that it can be cut and shaped. Hence for a six-carat canine tooth, a 12-carat raw cube is required.
This creates a lot of waste, as 3 to 4 more diamonds could be cut out of it.
Before and after picture explored
The rapper is yet to post a picture with his new teeth on his social media. However, we can do a before and after comparison of Post Malone’s new fangs from his other Instagram pictures.
