Liverpool fans are generally behind reports that they could sign Florian Neuhaus from Borussia Monchengladbach.
AS Sport claim that Liverpool are on track to sign the midfielder.
Their report claimed yesterday that ‘everything indicates’ that he will move to Anfield this summer.
And that news has generally gone down well with Liverpool supporters, who are backing Jurgen Klopp’s judgement.
Wijnaldum replacement?
If Neuhaus does move to Liverpool then he would arrive as Georginio Wijnaldum’s replacement.
The Reds have been weakened by the Dutchman’s departure, and are yet to bring in a midfielder this summer.
Neuhaus, like Wijnaldum, is capable in both an attacking and defensive sense and could fill in over a number of roles.
At the age of 24, he is also significantly younger than Wijnaldum, and could perform a role for Liverpool over a number of years.
If he was to move to Anfield he would be in competition with the likes of Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for a first-team place.
