Scotland head coach Steve Clarke has explained on BBC One (1:26pm, June 14, 2021) why Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney is not playing today.
Clarke has said that Tierney picked up a knock in training.
That is why the Arsenal star has been left out of the Scotland squad for the Euro 2020 Group D game against the Czech Republic at Hampden Park in Glasgow this afternoon.
Clarke said on BBC One (1:26pm, June 14, 2021): “Kieran picked up little niggle through the week in training, so he is not ready for this one, but hopefully he is ready for the next one.”
As shown below, when the Scotland team was announced, some Arsenal fans got confused and worried about Tierney.
Tierney is one of the best left-backs in Europe and is a key figure for Arsenal, as well for Scotland.
The 24-year-old is expected to play a big role for Scotland at the Euro 2020 finals.

Arsenal fans will have been eager to watch the former Celtic star in action for Scotland, but they will have to wait for a few more days at least.
Scotland will take on England in their next Euro 2020 game on Friday.
Hopefully for Scotland, Arsenal fans and Tierney, the left-back will recover his fitness by then.
Tierney made 26 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Arsenal this past season.
The 24-year-old scored one goal and gave three assists in those games.
