Alan Shearer has questioned on Match of the Day Live on BBC One whether reported Arsenal target, Raheem Sterling, has ‘fallen out’ with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The Daily Mail recently claimed that Sterling’s poor form in Manchester City’s colours this season has resulted in Mikel Arteta wanting to bring him to Arsenal this summer.

Well, whilst Sterling struggled for form and game time in Man City colours this season, he started off Euro 2020 with a bang yesterday.

The £49 million-rated speedster (BBC Sport) scored the only goal of the game as England beat Croatia in their Euro 2020 opener.

And this is what Shearer had to say about the player and how things have faired for him in Man City colours this season.

“We haven’t seen enough of him during the last couple of months because he has hardly played because whether he’s fallen out with Pep,” said Shearer.

“I know he has played in that final game. But we haven’t seen him at this best.

“We haven’t seen him get into those positions. We haven’t seen him go past people like he should be.”

It was a big call for Gareth Southgate to start Sterling at Wembley on Sunday because there were players in much better form than the speedster.

But if Sterling can have a strong performance in England colours this summer then it will be interesting to see what happens with his future once he returns to club level.

It will, no doubt, boost his reputation once more if he does perform well, but given Arsenal’s current situation, it would be a surprise to see him end up at the Emirates if he does indeed leave Manchester City this summer.
