According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are one of three options for Alessio Romagnoli as he looks for a move away from AC Milan.
It’s claimed that Tottenham are interested in signing Romagnoli, but there is also rival interest from both Barcelona and Juventus.
Agent Mino Raiola is believed to be working on an exit, because Milan are not willing to increase his wages with a new deal – and with a valuation of just €15million (£13million), a move looks likely.
Milan want swap deal for Romagnoli
Milan are seemingly keen to land a swap deal if they do let Romagnoli go, potentially seeking more value down that route than bringing in a diminished fee.
Barcelona could give them left back Junior Firpo, whilst Milan want Merih Demiral if they do a deal with Juventus – but Juve aren’t so keen on that.
A swap with Tottenham may not be easy, but Spurs would surely be open to sending the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Erik Lamela, Serge Aurier, Lucas Moura or Moussa Sissoko if a deal was possible.
Tottenham’s interest could be driven by Paratici
Tottenham have just brought in Fabio Paratici as their new managing director, and his knowledge of the Italian market could be key.
The report notes that Paratici and incoming Spurs boss Paulo Fonseca both know Romagnoli well from their time in Italy, and could see him as an ideal signing.
Praised as a ‘leader’ by Paolo Maldini, Romagnoli is of a good age at 26 and as a left-footed defender, could be Jan Vertonghen’s heir at Tottenham.
Paratici was interested in Romagnoli at around £45million last summer, so it would be no shock if Tottenham now launch a move this summer.
