Everything indicates that Liverpool are going to sign Florian Neuhaus this summer, AS Sport claim.

Liverpool are said to be competing with a number of clubs for the signature of the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder, but they appear to be at the head of the race.

That is because Liverpool are believed to have moved the fastest to try and secure their first choice replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

Ideal Wijnaldum replacement?

Neuhaus is certainly of a similar mould to Wijnaldum, in the sense that he is a jack of all trades.

Neuhaus is a solid defender, but he also has chipped in with six goals and six assists this term.

To make the potential deal even sweeter for Liverpool, it is claimed that they will beat Manchester City to the punch for him.

Liverpool will be looking to close the gap to City next term, and Neuhaus’s addition could certainly help them.

Liverpool do clearly have close eyes on the Bundesliga market, having already secured Ibrahima Konate this summer.

If Neuhaus was to arrive at Anfield he would be in competition with the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones and Naby Keita for a first-team place.
