According to A Bola, Marko Grujic wants to leave Liverpool for good and join FC Porto.

Grujic has told FC Porto and his representatives that he wants to move to the Portuguese club on a permanent contract from Liverpool.

The 25-year-old Serbia international midfielder spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Porto from Liverpool.

What’s the problem?

Grujic may want to join Porto permanently, but there is a problem.

It’s the transfer fee.

The Portuguese giants are ready to make a bid of €10 million (£8.59 million) for the 25-year-old.

Porto cannot afford to pay the €17 million (£14.61 million) that Liverpool are asking for the Serbian.

The Portuguese giants, who will play in the Champions League next season, also have to reach an agreement with Grujic over reducing the salary he gets at Liverpool.

Need to pay more

Grujic has made only a handful of appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool.

It is hard to see Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp being too keen to integrate the Serbian into his team.

However, Liverpool are unlikely to accept just €10 million (£8.59 million) for a player they value at €17 million £14.61 million).

Grujic is a good player, and the 25-year-old Serbia international midfielder needs a permanent club to flourish and have stability in his career.
