West Ham fans have reacted on Twitter as Jesse Lingard watched England’s win over Croatia on Sunday wearing a Three Lions top with Declan Rice’s name on the back.

The Manchester United playmaker was unfortunate to miss out on Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad for Euro 2020, but that didn’t stop him from enjoying their opening group game win.

Lingard is an already popular figure with the West Ham fans after he guided them into Europe this season.

But it seems as though the West Ham faithful are warming to him even more after yesterday, as he decided to wear a Rice-inspired top.

Whilst Lingard wasn’t in England’s midfield yesterday, Rice, Kalvin Phillips and Mason Mount were – and all three produced outstanding displays.

Phillips was, without a doubt, the Man of the Match, as he played a more attacking role in midfield, as Rice sat back and cleaned up.

There’s no doubt that Lingard will share a midfield again with Rice – for England – but will it happen at West Ham?

That’s the hope from the Hammers faithful, who would love to see the return of the free-flowing playmaker.

And they seemingly think he is sending out signals after he watched England beat Croatia in a bar with supporters.
