Will Netflix’s hit anime series ‘Castlevania’ be renewed for season 5 or will the franchise now focus on a spin-off series?

Castlevania, oh what an incredible ride! Over the past three years, this dark and violent series has been a flagship for Netflix’s original anime content and has become a fan favourite for millions of viewers around the world.

However, season 4 really stepped up to the plate; especially concerning the visual effects and animation – which were gorgeous in every one of the recently released episodes.

So, will the anime return with season 5 and if not, what does the future hold for the series?

Castlevania season 5…

  • At the time of writing, Castlevania will not return for season 5 and the recently released episodes are the finale to the main story. However, a spin-off series based in the same universe will be produced.

Unfortunately, it has been officially confirmed by the series’ producers that season 4 of Castlevania will be the last in the original storyline.

Whilst there is always the possibility that Netflix could renew Castlevania for another season, it’s highly unlikely with the way the series concluded.

Most of the characters received the happy ending they all deserved and are moving on from the events of season 1-4.

However, fans will be happy to know that we will see a return to the Castlevania universe with a brand-new series!

Castlevania spin-off series…

Netflix has confirmed that a spin-off series will be produced, but that it will not be a direct sequel, meaning we get a new cast of characters set in the Castlevania universe.

This spin-off series will tell the story of Richter Belmont and Maria Renard during the French Revolution.

According to Netflix Geeked, Richter is the “great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandson” of our original protagonists, Trevor and Sypha.

This second Castlevania story has not been given an official title, nor has a voice cast been revealed. However, this article will be updated as soon as more information is revealed, so keep checking back in
